This Website is a
Resource for K-12 Science Teachers. These resources have included the The Academy members meet for entire year including the fall, spring, and summer semesters to learn how to implement science concepts into their classrooms. The Academies meet on the UT El Paso campus as well as at field sites.� The focus is to introduce the teachers to technology (TI 84 Calculator, CBL, CBR, and digital camera) and to physics, chemistry, and earth science topics and concepts.� They then mentor at least five teachers throughout the year. In the Academies, teachers expand their science knowledge, mentor their colleagues, and learn more about technology. Bridging II TAKS provides a professional development experience on ways to explore the physical properties of matter. � The Academies provide teachers in the El Paso area with a sustained professional development program that enhances their leadership they have experience and resources capacity in science education and enables them to implement the 5E instructured model. Engage their students in interesting, relevant, experiential, and meaningful science learning experiences.
