Purpose of This Webquest

        This Web Quest was developed by Holly Hamilton and Wanda Thomas in their READ 4373 class at the University of Texas at Arlington.  This Web Quest was created to develop students’ interest in reading content area science trade books through integrating hands on science activities, children’s literatures and technology.  This introduction to flight is based on the book Flight by Robert Burleigh.  It will include an overview of basic flight terminology as well as a scientific experiment to learn how wings help an airplane fly. This Webquest is intended for students on a 2nd grade level.
